The Integral Aerospace Defense Command (CODAI) of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) currently has an exemplary level of development and technological independence thanks to the initiative and ingenuity of the men and women of this great command, said Defense Minister G/J Vladimir Padrino López.

In a statement, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the CODAI, Padrino López explained that the ingenuity of our military has served to invigorate the defensive power of the FANB with the recovery and modernization of its missile systems and anti-aircraft guns; radars and other devices that contribute to ensuring the security of the nation.

Below is the full statement:

Honor and patriotism are the cardinal values of those who assume the defense and protection of our sovereign airspace. Being the aviators who, with discipline and loyalty, undertake actions to monitor and protect the national firmament, has been the complex mission faced every day by the men and women of the Integral Aerospace Defense Command (CODAI).

Today, when this strategic Command celebrates its resplendent 45 years of institutional existence, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces exalts its exemplary level of development and technological independence, which has allowed it to achieve, with initiative, ingenuity and its own means, its operational autonomy, invigorating its defensive power with the recovery and modernization of its missile systems and anti-aircraft guns; radars and other devices that help guarantee the security of the nation. It should be noted that this entity has been strengthened by the development of endogenous projects that prepare it for future threats, such as remotely piloted aircraft, through state-of-the-art systems for their detection and neutralization.

In addition, we praise the impressive work carried out by Major General José Luis Tremont Jiménez, who, with his impeccable leadership and extensive experience, has been able to successfully command such a complex organization, excelling in the successful execution of the Aerospace Task Force, which combines all the elements of the national aeronautical infrastructure. You continue, in perfect civic-military union, to provide immediate and effective responses to any provocation or threat against our freedom, sovereignty and independence.
