The Bolivarian National Militia plays a very important role in all areas of armed and unarmed struggle for the integral defense of our Homeland, said Defense Minister, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, during a day of the Great Black Mission First held in the state of Bolivar.

“Today we are crying out for a militiaman, a militiana, to join a URRA (Rapid Reaction Units), to carry out their task in the national territory. We came from skepticism and have moved on to the full conviction that under the doctrine of the war of the whole people, the Bolivarian militia has a very important role to play in all areas of armed struggle and unarmed struggle,” he said.

In this regard, the senior military officer highlighted the great success of the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías, in creating this special component of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to strengthen civic-military union.

“There has been resistance since 2005, so that the Bolivarian Militia was nothing more than a group of men and women formed in one act, and look how it has evolved. What great consistency, patriotism, joy, character and desire to fight!” , he specified.

Padrino López also assured that the Bolivarian militia is recognized by all the men and women who command the FANB. “We are convinced that this special component has become a necessity to keep our sovereignty at bay, to keep the daily defense of national independence at bay and to keep at bay what is the defense of our territorial integrity,” he emphasized.
