The National Assembly (AN) installed, this Tuesday, a special commission to investigate the “leaders” and opposition parties that participated in the theft of CITGO.
The installation of this commission was in charge of the first vice-president of the AN, deputy Pedro Infante, who indicated that the legislative body will study each and every one of the lists of the deputies of the AN 2015-2020 responsible for appointing the Ad Hoc directors of CITGO to appropriate its resources, in order to bring them to justice.
“We are going to submit to the plenary of the National Assembly and to the competent bodies the evidence and supplies necessary for this investigation to have the results it should have for the country,” he said.
In this regard, he explained that one of the first actions they will take will be to prepare a questionnaire to be applied to all those responsible who appear in the above-mentioned minutes and, in this way, the defendants clarify the facts and face the country for their actions.
“It is also up to us to make a hampogram of the criminal relationships of the different political organizations and figures who were deputies until January 5, 2021 and now they are holding positions that do not belong to them and from there they continue to steal from the country,” he stressed.
In the same way, he stressed that, in addition to individual faults, the political organizations involved in these events must also respond and assume their responsibilities to the country.
“They have to stand up to the country and to this National Assembly as a body of political control, as mandated by the constitution,” he stressed.
