A Japanese Coast Guard aircraft collided this Tuesday with a Japan Airlines passenger plane at Tokyo's Haneda International Airport.

In the accident, five of the six people who were on board the military airplane died , which was traveling on the runway before taking off with supplies to Niigata prefecture, after the earthquake that occurred at the beginning of the New Year.

The Japanese airline's Airbus A350 had just landed with 367 passengers and 12 crew members, coming from the New Chitose Airport in the city of Sapporo, on the island of Hokkaido, and caught fire immediately after the crash, but all the people on board were evacuated.

As can be seen in the images from the scene, shared by RT, the flames spread throughout the aircraft and firefighters are continuing their work to extinguish the fire, while Japan Airlines assesses the magnitude of the damage.
