The maritime terminal of the Port of Guanta registered a historic increase in its productivity indicators at the end of August, significantly exceeding the monthly averages recorded during the first half of the year 2026.

In terms of vessel service, the terminal registered the arrival and maneuvering of 12 ships during the month of August, which represents an increase of 100% compared to the monthly average for the first semester (January-June), a period in which an average of 6 vessels were serviced per month, according to the press release of the Ministry of People's Power for Transport.

In addition, the mobilization of general cargo experienced an extraordinary increase of 132.34%, going from a biannual average of 2,881.70 tons per month to a total of 6,695.39 tons handled in the month of August alone.

This positive behavior is mainly due to the strengthening of project cargo operations, a segment that constitutes the main operational strength and competitive advantage of this maritime area.

For its part, container traffic also showed a notable expansion. During August, 3,369 TEUs were mobilized, a figure that is 62.05% higher than the average of 2,079 TEUs per month recorded during the first six months of the year.

With this operational performance, Bolivariana de Puertos reaffirms its commitment to the country's economic development, guaranteeing efficient, safe port processes adapted to the requirements of the international market, consolidating the port of Guanta as the logistics gateway par excellence in the eastern region.
