The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, recalled this Monday the events that occurred in the country on April 11, 12 and 13, 2002, when the extreme right carried out a coup against Commander Hugo Chávez, who was thwarted by the people in the streets.

“24 years ago, Venezuela experienced a true democratic festival, when the people took to the streets with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to bring back Commander Hugo Chávez, hand in hand. Our country's pulse did not shake to defend democracy, to defend Chávez,” said the president in charge when she received the march for the 24th Anniversary of the Rescue of National Dignity, held in Caracas.

He pointed out that, as in those days, “we don't shake (our pulse) at this time of construction and we have been meeting opposing sectors, but that they are willing to find a path in Venezuelan democracy,” he said.
