The president in charge Delcy Rodríguez highlighted the progress of inspections carried out by teams of engineers and construction professionals to evaluate buildings in the states that were hit most intensely by the seismic event that occurred last June 24.

After noting that there are currently 11,546 people affected, he specified that in urban areas where damage occurred to the infrastructure of residential buildings, their owners and occupants are waiting for an inspection to determine their situation.

He indicated that as part of this deployment, it was possible to determine that in the city of Caracas, where 5 buildings collapsed, inspections have resulted in 30 buildings being red, which defines them as uninhabitable.

He argued that this process is of great importance to ensure the safety of people who live in affected residential complexes that could have greater implications due to the aftershocks that already number more than 862 in the first 8 days after the earthquakes last Wednesday.
