The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized this Sunday that rescue efforts are continuing permanently in the areas affected by the devastating double earthquake of last June 24.
“Rescue and rescue efforts are continuing. Today we have recovered people alive and therefore the work is not suspended. We always remain hopeful. While hope is in our hearts, there is always possibility and there is always joy in the future,” said the president in charge of issuing important announcements regarding social and operational deployment due to earthquakes.
In this regard, he recognized the hard work of national rescuers and rescue brigades from more than 24 countries that are on the ground saving lives.
“I will never tire of thanking you, thanking our rescuers who came from all over the country, our Firefighters, Civil Protection personnel, our citizen security agencies, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces who have worked tirelessly saving lives, as well as the international brigades that have joined this rescue and rescue effort,” he said.
Rodríguez confirmed that the teams will continue to be deployed in the affected territories, “and specifically with a great concentration of the national government's efforts in the state of La Guaira.”
