The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, recognized early this Sunday the work of the country's journalists, in the midst of the national emergency due to the earthquakes recorded last June 24.
“My sincerest gratitude to the Venezuelan journalists who, in these days of national emergency, remain with the people minute by minute, reporting with courage, ethics and commitment. Thank you for being company and voice of hope,” said the president in charge on her social networks.
Every June 27, Journalist's Day is celebrated in Venezuela, a date established in 1964 to commemorate the first publication of the newspaper Correo del Orinoco in 1818, founded by the Liberator Simon Bolivar to defend the independence cause.
