This Friday, June 26, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the state of La Guaira will be militarized in order to effectively carry out search and rescue tasks; as well as care for the affected population.

“Our Bolivarian National Armed Forces and its various components are in the territory of the state of La Guaira to address this difficult situation affecting our people,” he said.

In this regard, from the ZODI in La Guaira, he indicated that thanks to the work that has been carried out, the road is clear so that rescuers can reach areas where buildings and houses collapsed.

“The clearing of roads has not only allowed our rescuers, our Public Security agency, our military personnel to move around the state, but it has also allowed us to address logistical aspects such as food and water, we are in a process of saturating food and water to serve the population,” he explained.

He recalled that the state of La Guaira was declared a natural disaster area because of the impact generated by the two earthquakes last Wednesday in the country. “It simply devastated entire areas in this state and that has merited special care plans,” he said.
