President (E) Rodríguez appointed Francisco Garcés as the new Minister of Transportation

The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, appointed engineer Francisco Garcés as the new Minister of People's Power for Transportation this Sunday, July 5. The official designation, disseminated through the National Executive, has as its priority objective to advance in the optimization of public mobility services and to consolidate road infrastructure projects throughout the national territory.
“I have appointed engineer Francisco Garcés, a specialist in Structural Engineering and a PhD in Civil Engineering, as the new Minister of Transportation; who assumes this responsibility with the purpose of advancing and strengthening this strategic sector,” said the national president.
The new holder of the State portfolio has a solid academic background and a profile of high technical specialization, conditions that are considered fundamental to leading major maintenance plans in the sector.
The management of this ministry will focus its immediate efforts on the comprehensive rehabilitation of bridges, highways and critical trunk roads, as well as on the modernization of underground and rail transport systems. Institutional spokespersons indicated that the incorporation of an expert in calculations and structures will directly reinforce the mechanisms for supervising public works, guaranteeing high standards of safety and resistance for the benefit of the civilian population.
“With the purpose of advancing and strengthening this strategic sector,” government authorities reaffirmed the State's policy of adding professionals with proven competence in public management positions to ensure efficient administration.
