The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, this Tuesday, April 14, ratified the request to the United States Government to put an end to coercive measures against Venezuela, in order to allow the full development of investments.
The proposal was made at the Miraflores Palace, where he held a meeting with the Undersecretary of the United States Office of Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy, Kyle Haustveit, and the North American Energy delegation.
The president in charge stressed that investors primarily need legal security, which temporary licenses do not fully guarantee.
In this regard, he specified that “a license does not provide legal certainty in the projection of time, because it is subject to temporality”.
“We are mature enough, both the United States and Venezuela, to establish energy, economic and cooperation relations within the framework of the laws of both countries,” he said.
During the meeting, he also stated that “I am very happy that they can see a Venezuela that has sought to make an effort despite difficulties.”
In addition, he recalled that the country has kept its doors open for different business groups, from corporations such as ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil, to the consolidation of yesterday's strategic agreement between Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA ) and Chevron.
He also highlighted the importance of the international delegation being able to “know first-hand the reality of Venezuela and the impetus of workers in the hydrocarbon industry, who have had a very strong weight with sanctions.”
