“We couldn't allow media laboratories to make search and rescue work impossible,” emphasized the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, referring to the decision to militarize and control access to the state of La Guaira.
During a press conference given this Thursday, July 2, to international media, the President in charge denounced that under the “everyone go down to La Guaira” campaign, these media laboratories sought to chaotize the entity to the point of making it impossible for rescue and medical bodies to work in the early days of the tragedy.
After describing these media actions as “inconsiderate and miserable”, he pointed out that this measure made it possible to accelerate the work of rescue teams and the mobilization of necessary machinery to the state of La Guaira, while stressing that alongside this measure, the process of registering volunteers was carried out, which in the first 24 hours totaled more than 19,000 people.
He recalled that as part of the destabilizing actions of these laboratories that he maintained are due to the interests of anti-Venezuelan political sectors, on June 25, one day after the seismic event, false information about a tsunami was promoted.
“Those laboratories told all of La Guaira the next day 'a tsunami is coming'. They are miserable!” , repudiated.
