The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced this Sunday, July 5, the appointment of Jacqueline Faria as president of the Great Venezuela Renace Mission, a strategic body directly attached to the Presidency of the Republic. This new body was created with the central objective of unifying and efficiently conducting all State efforts aimed at the reconstruction of areas affected by the national seismological emergency. The executive measure seeks to centralize the allocation of resources and streamline housing assistance plans in regions hit by the double earthquake of last June 24.
“It will have the responsibility to articulate and lead efforts to recover housing and infrastructure, coordinating actions that, after technical verification, make it possible to provide timely responses to families affected by earthquakes in Venezuela,” said the national president when defining the immediate tasks of the position.
With this decision, the Central Executive establishes a unified command structure for the assessment of damage to public works and residential areas. Faria will immediately assume the leadership of this Great Mission to link ministerial policies with the urgent needs of the civilian population.
The appointment of engineer Faría to head this body is based on her extensive previous experience in public administration and in the management of large scale infrastructure projects in the country. The new strategic entity will work directly with the governors and mayors of the affected entities to accelerate technical censuses and the validation of safe housing structures.
