President-in-Charge appoints new presidents of the Bank of Venezuela and the CIIP

The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced new appointments to the country's economic team on Tuesday.
Through her official channels, the Head of State in charge announced the appointment of economist Calixto Ortega Sánchez as the new president of the Bank of Venezuela (BDV). Rodríguez highlighted that Ortega Sánchez assumes the leadership of this fundamental institution for the leverage of the national financial system, maintaining in parallel his functions as head of the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Economy to ensure the comprehensive coordination of the economic team.
“We rely on their professionalism and extensive experience in the area, to fulfill the task of continuing to promote efficient public banking, close to our people and committed to the economic and productive growth of Venezuela,” he said.
In addition, the president in charge appointed Alejandro Puglia as the new president of the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP). Puglia, who has a degree in Finance and a specialist in business administration, assumes the management of the center with the goal of boosting the national economy.
In this regard, Rodríguez pointed out that this young professional has the responsibility to “continue to promote the acquisition of national and international investments that strengthen the productive and economic system of our country”, consolidating the State's strategy of openness and strategic development.
