President in charge Delcy Rodríguez appoints Carlos Alvarado as Minister for Health

The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez announced the appointment of Dr. Carlos Alvarado as Minister of the People's Power for Health.

From his social networks, he reported, “I have appointed Dr. Carlos Alvarado as the new Minister of the People's Power for Health. Venezuelan doctor graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) who was already in charge of this portfolio, playing a fundamental role in the care and protection of the Venezuelan people, especially in the front line of combat in the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In that regard, he added, “my thanks to Dr. Nuramy Gutiérrez for her valuable work at the head of this Ministry. She will now serve as rector of the University of Health Sciences (UCS) Hugo Chávez Frías, where with her professionalism she will continue to contribute to the training of new medical professionals at the service of Venezuelans.”
