During a videoconference with those responsible for the temporary camps and housing affected by the double earthquake, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the beginning of direct international efforts to rescue the nation's financial resources and allocate them to emergency care.

The president in charge expressed the need to recover the country's heritage in order to channel it directly to the social welfare of the victims.

“I have decided to send a letter, among others, to the King of England to release the gold that is being held in the Bank of England. That gold belongs to our people and that gold must be there to deal with the terrible, tragic consequences of this double earthquake,” he said in a publication published by the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs (MPPRE).

He also highlighted the progress achieved in talks with global financial organizations.

“Yesterday I also held a call with the director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), whom I thank for her attention, her understanding to release blocked resources from Venezuela,” he concluded, confirming that the absolute priority of the Bolivarian Government is to guarantee the protection and housing of the People.
