President in Charge led a meeting of the General Staff to coordinate emergency actions in La Guaira

The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, holds a working meeting with the Special General Staff with the objective of coordinating and implementing immediate care actions in the state of La Guaira, after the magnitude 7.5 earthquake that affected the coastal entity and other regions of the country.

During the meeting, in which the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, and the Military High Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), strategic lines are defined aimed at removing debris, opening roads and the rigorous deployment of State security forces.

The National Executive's absolute priority is focused on streamlining operational decision-making to safeguard the lives of the population and assist affected families.

As part of the multisectoral contingency plan, the authorities instructed the mobilization of heavy machinery and the priority distribution of basic supplies such as drinking water, food, mattresses and blankets for the victims. The rescue, risk management and social assistance teams remain deployed on the ground under a unified coordination scheme to ensure the protection of the Guairian people in the face of the emergency.
