The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez announced that she gave instructions for the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense (MPPD) to proceed with the creation of the Special Emergency Task Unit, Grand Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, to deal with disaster situations.
He specified that he appointed Brigadier General Trino Alexander Pabón Castellanos, “to take charge of this Special Task Unit and to whom I hand over the banner of this new unit of our Armed Forces,”
This was reported during the commemoration of the 215th Anniversary of Independence and the joint graduation of new officers from the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela (UMBV).
“They wanted to attack the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, and I saw them helping the people, saving lives, rescuing bodies. That's the Armed Forces that I believe in,” he emphasized.
In that sense, he argued that its deep foundations must be laid, “there is the spirit of solidarity that our Liberating Father Simón Bolívar instilled in us.”
