The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, this Saturday, June 27, at night, held a meeting with members of the International Rescue Brigades, whom she thanked for their work to rescue those affected by the recent earthquakes that occurred in the country.

“Today we got 33 people alive and I wanted to thank them,” he said.

At the meeting held at the Miraflores Palace, the president in charge stated that “at the juncture in which we are, you have been able to see on the ground that the situation is very complex and, in fact, we are in the presence of a natural catastrophe”.

“We wanted to take them away from their tasks, which are vital, to thank them on behalf of the Venezuelan people,” he said.

He stressed that he has been following up on the work done by international rescuers, which “is very impressive and very emotional”.

“We are in critical hours to be able to save lives and we, who are not working with you, are praying that we can find people alive,” he said.

The president in charge assured that “the Venezuelan people have a lot of hope in you. To the places where you arrived, there is hope and you joined the extraordinary work that Venezuelan rescuers have been doing since the first minute.”

“I hope they can continue and bring us more good news for the rescue of people alive,” he said.
