The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ratified this Monday the coordination of the Venezuelan and Colombian military forces for the defense of the binational border and the neutralization of drug trafficking and paramilitary mafias.
During a meeting with governors and mayors of the Great Patriotic Pole Simon Bolivar (GPPSB), the head of state stressed that this is a joint coordination effort, but the time will come for union.
“Colombian soldiers, don't forget that you are Bolivar's children too. And that the Day of the Union will come again (...) Right now it's coordination, because our seas, our skies and our lands are defended by us, we liberated them, we watch them and we patrol them. No empire is going to attack sacred soil in Venezuela nor should it attack sacred soil in South America, no empire in the world,” he said.
He added that “never (will there be) an empire with its insolent plant touching Bolivar's sacred land. It's humiliating enough that there are U.S. military bases on Colombian soil. Quite a humiliation to the land that Bolívar gave all his sacrifice.”
