President Maduro: More than 24 million medical consultations were offered through Barrio Adentro

A total of 24 million 326 thousand medical consultations were given, during 2023, through the Barrio Adentro network and 17 million 800 thousand through the country's hospital network.

This was reported by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the presentation of his annual message to the National Assembly, where he explained that last year 216 thousand 151 operations were performed through the National Surgical Plan.

“A total of 1,226 pacemakers, defibrillators, desynchronizers, aortic and mitral valves, and hemodynamic kits were implanted. This figure represented an increase of 147 percent compared to 2022,” he said while assuring that these elements were imported “in silence” to circumvent the blockade imposed on our country.

He also explained that during the past year, 9 million 619 vaccines were applied free of charge to girls and boys in the country.

In the same way, he indicated that the mission system was added to the plan in Amor Mayor for the victims of the economic war, through which more than 3,460,000 people were served.

He also explained that to date more than 4 million 426,000 women have enrolled in the great Venezuela Women's mission. “81,333 women's grass-roots committees have been formed in the territory,” she said.
