This Thursday, August 21, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the 20th Anniversary of the Sandino Commitment, a historic agreement signed by Commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.

In a message and video posted on his social networks, the head of state stated that “this commitment was a great step in forging a new America, united in diversity, social development and solidarity.”

“The Sandino Commitment is more relevant than ever. It represents the path where education, health, scientific knowledge and investment in technology come together to serve our Peoples, he stressed.

He also said that “thanks to this agreement, the Miracle Mission was promoted on a large scale, which restored sight to millions of compatriots in Latin America and the Caribbean, demonstrating that integration and cooperation are the only path to the happiness of humanity.”

“The ideas of Fidel and Chávez are our guide and we carry them as our flag in the construction of the Great Homeland possible. Long live the Sandino Commitment!” , he said.
