The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, described the management of the National Assembly (AN) as very positive during the 2023 session.

In this regard, he stressed that thanks to the National Parliament, Venezuela has 10 quarters of permanent economic growth in the non-oil economy.

During the notification ceremony of the Legislative Branch of the beginning of the 2024-2025 period, held at the Miraflores Palace, he stressed that “this Assembly, with its three successful years, can show its face to the country with a fruitful harvest of 74 laws approved, which have a direct bearing on the issues of greatest importance to our people.”

He also emphasized that Venezuela “needs an increasingly active National Assembly, with more and more debate.”

In this regard, he stressed that this National Assembly “issued in September a proposal that shook the foundations of our country and that made it possible to change the geopolitical game that ExxonMobil and the government of Guyana intended against the historical rights of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

He argued that the Legislative Power, “must be the epicenter of the debate that has its expression in the different organizations, movements, political parties.”
