This Monday, January 15, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured that the Bolivarian Revolution does not conspire against anyone, “what we do is fight for an idea, for a cause, for a flag that (Hugo) Chávez left us, for our convictions, for a historical cause.”
In this regard, during his Annual Message to the Nation, he emphasized that the opposition resumed, while negotiations with the United States were taking place, its conspiracy operations against the Homeland.
“We had everything ready and suddenly they got angry and left,” he said, noting that this opposition began to reactivate “the sleeper cells” that intended to attack a unit in San Cristóbal, in Táchira.
In addition, he reaffirmed that he has always been a man of his word and proof of this is that while these negotiations were taking place he respected the agreements. “All this became known because they said it in the Miami Herald and in the Washington Post (...) I always respect agreements (...) it's the moral basis of our word, the word counts if you comply,” he said.
