President Petro asks his American peers to confront a coup plan in Guatemala

The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, asked all the Heads of State of the republics of America to attend the inauguration of President Bernardo Arévalo in Guatemala.
“There are forces threatening a coup d'etat. Our solidarity is fundamental,” said the Colombian president through his account on Social Network X.
He also urged everyone not to abandon the democratic struggle of the Guatemalan people.
In that regard, he informed that he will personally address the Republic of Guatemala.
The elected president of Guatemala, Bernardo Arévalo de León, will take office on January 14, after overcoming attempts by the Attorney General's Office to reverse the electoral results.
