Promoting the Scientific Seedbed! The Astronomical Route begins in the state of Zulia

This Tuesday, June 9, the Astronomical Route officially began in Maracaibo, Zulia state, a pedagogical initiative promoted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), which has the valuable support of the Government and the active participation of the National Scientific Seed Program.

In this space, disseminators from the Center for Research Foundation for Astronomy and Applied Technologies (CIDATA) share their knowledge of the cosmos with children, young people and adults in the region.

This day is directly linked to the First Summit of the Great Science, Technology and Innovation Mission Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, whose objective is the planting and preservation of national talent.

According to a MINCYT press release, the technical staff arrived in the Zulian capital with two Astrobuses fully equipped with telescopes, interactive tools and teaching material to capture public enthusiasm and strengthen early vocations in the entity.

The intense schedule of activities began with a morning approach at the Rafael María Baralt Educational Complex to serve 510 students, followed by an evening meeting at the Ana María Campos Monumental Park designed for 600 people; it continues this Wednesday 10th with a visit to the 950 students of the U.E.P. Colegio Salto Ángel in the morning and a day of community observation in the Vereda del Lago Park in the afternoon.

On Thursday the 11th, the technical deployment will arrive at the C.E. “Vicente Lecuna” to train an enrollment of 991 young people, returning at night to the Ana María Campos Monumental Park; and will end this Friday, June 12 with a school session at the U.E.P. “Elisa Faria School” for 725 students, closing the Astronomical Route with a last evening of stargazing open to the public in the Vereda del Lago Park, estimating a community outreach of 600 people for each night day.
