Prosecutor Tarek William Saab: The Canserbero case marks an international criminal investigation

“The Canserbero investigation sets a precedent in international criminal investigations,” said the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, referring to the case of Tirone José González Orama.
He pointed out that this was possible when it was reopened by the Public Ministry (MP), to clarify the facts of “an alleged suicide”, as well as to do justice to the victim's family and friends.
In the Al Día program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Saab explained that they requested 10 steps to reconstruct the facts of the murder, so the first thing they executed was the exhumation of the remains of Canserbero and Carlos Molnar, González's friend and manager, to establish a different line of investigation in the case.
“I took as a reference the case of Carlos Lanz to practice the same plan, to rebuild the entire investigation from scratch. I started with the interviews from the beginning, with whom they were, including the police officers,” he explained.
In this regard, he reported that at the time of performing the autopsy of those involved, the pathologist in charge of the procedure ignored the penetrating puncture wounds that Canserbero had on his left side, stating, in the report, that the cause of death had been the fall and not the stab wounds caused by his perpetrator, making this action a revealing clue in the case.
“We verified if Canserbero was schizophrenic; since Natalia Améstica, in her statement to the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps, stated that Tirone had had a schizophrenic attack killing Molnar, she takes cover in a bathroom and calls 911, a situation that was a lie, because the one who called the emergency room was a neighbor,” he recalled.
He confirmed that in the Canserbero case, 120 investigative steps were carried out, broken down into 13 occasions, which determined that it was not a homicide - suicide, but a double murder, committed by Natalia Améstica, who stabbed both victims.
Later, his brother Guillermo Améstica, seeks support from police officials to simulate an act punishable through a fight, he added.
Saab also reported that within a month it will have a video of the reconstruction of everything that happened, as if it had happened in an animated way, after everything collected from the double murder.
