Public health institutions call for a blood donation day in Caracas this Sunday

With the objective of responding immediately to the increase in hospital demand and guaranteeing critical supplies following the earthquakes of June 24 in Venezuela, public health institutions will activate a blood donation day this Sunday in Greater Caracas.
The operation is aimed at increasing the reserves of the different types of blood components, necessary to treat people injured during the disaster.
The Dr. Domingo Luciani Hospital, located in the El Llanito urbanization, Sucre municipality, will be one of the main venues for the day, since it functions as one of the reference centers for receiving the injured; while the second point will be the Chacao Blood Center, located in front of the old Municipal Market.
Blood banks and medical staff recalled that, to participate in the day, donors must meet basic requirements to ensure the viability of the samples:
- Present your identity card.
- Be between 18 and 60 years old.
- Weigh more than 50 kilograms.
- Not having ingested alcoholic beverages in the last 24 hours.
- Enjoy an optimal state of health.
