Russia: The US has sold de facto license for Israel to kill Palestinian civilians in Gaza

The permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations (UN), Vasili Nebenzia, denounced that the US government is responsible for promoting and financing the Israeli bombing against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

“The United States has once again been in full view of the entire world, blocking even the much vaunted “call” of the UN Security Council for the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip,” said Nebenzia, after the vote on a resolution to stop Israel's attacks on Gaza.

In this regard, he asserted that the US is “playing without scruples, it has sold in the text a de facto license for Israel to kill Palestinian civilians in Gaza under the pretext of 'creating the conditions for the cessation of hostilities'”.

On the other hand, he stressed that Russia respects the decisions of Arab countries because they are “capable of making their own decisions and taking full responsibility for them.”
