With the purpose of strengthening national agricultural production in the face of the challenges of climate change, the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology in the state of Anzoátegui (FUNDACITE Anzoátegui), through the Scientific-Peasant Alliance program, accompanied a training day aimed at coffee growers in the Guanta municipality, held at the facilities of the Mi Esperanza nursery.

According to a press release, the activity included a solid inter-institutional coordination with the Venezuelan Coffee Corporation (CVC), the National Reforestation Company (CONARE), Misión Árbol and the Mayor's Office of the Guanta municipality, through the Office of Ecosocialism, Science and Intelligence.

During the meeting, technicians and producers analyzed the incidence of the El Niño phenomenon and the current climate crisis, discussing strategies aimed at sustainable soil management and the promotion of agroeconomic processes that are harmonious with the environment.

In addition, practical training was provided in four fundamental axes of climate adaptation: development and application of bioinputs for soil regeneration, design of agroforestry systems with associated crops, implementation of early warnings through local climate monitoring and protection techniques to safeguard coffee crops against adverse weather events.
