Seismic engineers from Stanford University began studying structures in La Guaira

The Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability and the John A. Blume Earthquake Engineering Center of Stanford University, California, USA, carried out joint evaluations in the state of La Guaira to ascertain the status of various infrastructures including the Main Coast Guard Station.
A report published by VTV and replicated by the newspaper or Últime Noticias, points out that the professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, Eduardo Miranda, stated that this group of experts works up to 15 hours a day to support Venezuela.
“We had the opportunity to be at the Coast Guard Post to try to understand a series of movements and land settlements that occurred there in order to give peace of mind to the coast guards regarding the safety of their pier,” he said.
He added that his main function is to document and try to understand what happened in La Guaira. The expert admitted that it is difficult for him to understand what happened in that entity.
