Social and Territorial Vice Presidency reports care for more than 16,000 people in temporary camps

The Social and Territorial Vice President, Héctor Rodríguez, issued a new official balance sheet on the deployment of care in active temporary camps in the country. As of Wednesday, July 8, at six in the morning, a total of 16,686 people are under protection in these temporary assistance structures.

The institutional report details that a total of 87 camps have been allocated to address the housing contingency in the central region. These humanitarian care centers currently have a global installed capacity to safely house 22,477 citizens.

The Capital District has the highest number of operational shelters, with a total of 39 assigned camps. Caracas has an installed capacity of 11,436 places, of which 5 min 046 are currently occupied by affected families receiving comprehensive assistance.

For its part, the state of La Guaira has the largest volume of sheltered population, with 10,469 people distributed in 26 assigned camps. The authorities reported that, given the logistical needs of the central coast, six of these camps are in the process of expanding their infrastructure.

In the state of Miranda, 22 temporary camps are still active to help communities. This entity has an installed capacity of 2,096 enabled spaces, registering an occupancy of 1,171 people served until the early hours of the day.
