Statement: FANB demoted and exposed 33 soldiers linked to terrorist plans

On January 23, a total of 33 military officials, including officers and professional troops, were demoted and expelled from the military institution because of their connection with the 5 terrorist plans unveiled in recent days by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF PEOPLE'S POWER FOR DEFENSE

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces reports that on January 23, at 10:30 a.m., in the Courtyard of Honor of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, in Fuerte Tiuna, Caracas Capital District, in compliance with the order given by citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, our Commander in Chief; the act of Degradation and Expulsion of a group of military professionals in a situation of Activity and Active Reserve, implicated in conspiracies through the planning criminal and terrorist actions to attack the legitimately constituted system of government, the authorities and institutions of the State and the Venezuelan people, even contemplating the assassination of the first national president, all of which represent “Acts of Treason to the Fatherland”.
