• On April 19, 1972, the 12-year-old boy Luis Enrique Lugo was murdered by members of the Metropolitan Police (PM).
• That night, in the El Nazareno neighborhood, behind Block 6 of Propatria, police officers mortally wounded the child with a shot to the head.
• While the agents were carrying out an operation against two other young people inside block 6, detonations were heard and the boy, who was watching from a distance, was mortally wounded.
• From there, he was taken to the Forensic Medicine Department of the Vargas Hospital, where he died minutes later.
• The ballistic test established that the boy died as a result of a shot fired by a PM agent, without the identity of the infanticide being revealed. In his statement, he stated that he used his gun against exalted people and the bullet accidentally hit the minor.
• At the time of the funeral of Luis Enrique Lugo, a commission of officials from the Directorate of Intelligence and Prevention Services (DISIP) took the coffin and carried out the burial secretly, in the absence of his parents, relatives, neighbors and fellow students. All with the purpose of preventing popular demonstrations of mourning and protests.
