The National Government serves more than 16,800 people in temporary camps in the central region

The National Government maintains comprehensive care for 16,891 citizens who are under protection in temporary camps set up after the seismic contingency, according to the official balance sheet presented this Thursday, July 9, by the Social and Territorial Vice President and Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, through his Telegram channel.

The technical report details the deployment of 87 camps in the central region, which have a global installed capacity to house 23 thousand 396 people safely.

In the Capital District, the National Executive maintains 39 assistance camps operating. According to the specifications of the report released by the government spokesperson, Caracas has an installed capacity of 10,730 places in its shelters, registering until the early hours of the morning a real occupancy of 5,335 people who receive continuous care from the State's multidisciplinary teams.

For its part, the state of La Guaira continues to concentrate the largest volume of population assisted by public institutions, registering a total of 10,391 people distributed in 26 assigned camps. In order to optimize the logistical response on the central coast to the demands of the affected communities, the authorities reported that five of these temporary shelter centers are currently in the process of expanding their operational infrastructure.

In the state of Miranda, there are reports of the operation of 22 temporary camps for the assistance of families, with an installed capacity of 2,083 authorized spaces and an occupancy of 1,165 people served. Presenting these figures on behalf of government management, Minister Rodríguez confirmed that civil and security commissions are still deployed in Caracas, La Guaira and Miranda, organizing each camp and placing families to provide them with the greatest possible support and guarantee them decent spaces during this phase of recovery.
