During the broadcast of the program “Patria que Struggling” from the headquarters of the National Institute of Parks (Inparks) in the Andean entities, directed by Governor Jehyson Guzmán, it was explained that the project is being carried out together with the Probiodiverse Foundation and other governmental and environmental institutions, the message says.
In this phase, the staff will place a batch of 35 rolls of thermal blankets on the surface of the glacier with the intention of extending its existence.
The mantles are composed of a reflective polyester and polypropylene fiber to increase a glacier's ability to reflect sunlight, evade heat and generate a microtemperature.
