The Gaza media office
reported the killing of three other Palestinian journalists
during Israeli attacks in the Strip this Sunday, bringing the number
of journalists killed since October 7 to 110.
In this
regard, according to information from Telesur, through a statement, the office
identified the two victims as Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh, son of the head of Al Jazeera's Gaza
office, Wael Al-Dahdouh, and Mustafa Thuraya, who
lost their lives in an Israeli bombing of their car in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Strip.
Wael
Al-Dahdouh had previously lost his wife, their two children, in an Israeli
air strike aimed at the house where they were taking refuge in the Nusseirat refugee camp in late
October 2023.
Meanwhile
, photojournalist Ali Salem Abu Ajwa died in an airstrike in Gaza
City, in the north of the occupied territory. In addition, the airstrike
also injured two journalists, Ahmed Al-Burash and Amer Abu Amr,
both working with Palestine Today TV.
For these
events, the media office denounced “in the strongest terms this atrocious
crime” committed by the “Israeli occupying army against
journalists”. At the same time, he added that with these attacks, Israel intends to
“intimidate journalists in a failed attempt to obscure the truth
and prevent media coverage.”
He also called on “all press unions , human rights and legal bodies to condemn this crime and denounce its repeated commission by the occupation.” In turn, he called for putting pressure on “the occupation to stop the genocidal war against our defenseless people in the Gaza Strip”.
