USA: Requests for unemployment assistance increase in the last two months

In information released this Thursday by the United States Department of the Treasury (USA), the number of citizens who applied for unemployment assistance rose to its highest level in two months last week.
Requests for unemployment assistance for the week ending March 30 increased by 9,000 to 221,000, up from 212,000 the previous week.
The 4-week moving average was 214,250, an increase of 2,750 over the previous week's revised average. The previous average for the week was revised upwards by 500, from 211 thousand to 211 thousand 500.
