On August 1, 1964, Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) began broadcasting. It was nationalized on April 8, 1976, and since then its motto has been: The Channel of All Venezuelans.
Although at the end of the 90s of the last century, plans to privatize it were known.
After Commander Hugo Chávez assumed the presidency of the Republic, this television station greatly improved its communication policy and is currently fighting to bring the truth of Venezuela to every corner of the country and to the world.
The stellar and glorious role played by the Venezolana de Televisión family during the coup d'etat in April 2002, which was perpetrated by the national right with the support of the United States, and managed to break free from the censorship that was subdued by the then governor of the state Miranda, Enrique Mendoza, will always be remembered.
Currently, it maintains its programming 24 hours a day with a grid dedicated, for the most part, to the coverage of national and international issues of interest to the Venezuelan people.
