Venezuelan authorities and representatives of the Italian company ITA Airways signed a memorandum of understanding that opens up new opportunities for air connection and tourist and cultural exchange from Caracas to Rome.

According to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the first deputy minister, Oliver Blanco, and the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Italian Republic, María Elena Uzzo, were present at the firm, together with the general manager of ITA Airways, Joerg Eberhart, who positively assessed the re-establishment of relations.

“We are very happy because today we signed an agreement with the Venezuelan embassy to open a new route between Rome and Caracas. This connection will operate from March 30 of next year with three weekly frequencies; we are very excited to return to Venezuela, Caracas, a destination that ITA Airways flew to for so many years,” said Eberhart.

It was also noted that the reactivation of this important route through the efforts of ITA Airways and the Venezuelan embassy represents a decisive step in boosting tourism, facilitating the reunion of the large Spanish-Italian community and opening up new opportunities for bilateral exchange at the economic and strategic levels.
