Venezuela participated in the Ministerial Roundtable of the Forum of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2026 , held in Switzerland.

According to information issued by the Minister of Science, Gabriela Jiménez, during the participation of the Venezuelan side, led by the Deputy Minister for the Communalization of Science for Production, Danmarys Hernández, reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to sovereign, ethical, inclusive Artificial Intelligence at the service of peoples.

In this regard, the country's advances were presented, including the draft Law on Artificial Intelligence, which is under discussion in the National Assembly; the National Plan for Artificial Intelligence, promoted by the Bolivarian Government, and the Code of Ethics for Development and Application Responsible for AI, instruments that strengthen technology at the service of the common good.

“We reaffirm our commitment to sovereign, ethical, inclusive Artificial Intelligence with a human face, which is why we demand the lifting of unilateral coercive measures that seek to limit Venezuela's access to technologies and scientific development on equal terms,” he said.

Finally, he reiterated that science and technology are pillars of our independence and of building a fairer future for all.
