This Tuesday, January 9th, through a statement, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed its strong rejection of the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice of the United States in relation to the vulgar dispossession against the company CITGO.
“This decision constitutes an additional step in the multifaceted aggression being carried out by the institutions of the United States against Venezuela, with the purpose of plundering the assets that belong to them from the Venezuelan people, in clear violation of the rules that govern peaceful coexistence between States,” reads part of the statement that was shared on the social network X by the vice-president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez.
In addition, the text highlights that this action by the United States, evidence “confirms the serious harm caused to the interests and heritage of the Venezuelan people by the criminal action of the organized crime group calling itself 'National Assembly of 2015' which, since 2019, has sought to usurp the institutions and representation of the Republic abroad”.
For this reason, the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela ratified that “it will continue to adopt all political, diplomatic and legal measures at its disposal to avoid the consummation of the definitive dispossession of the CITGO company, while continuing to demand that the organs of the Venezuelan justice system establish appropriate sanctions against those responsible for the theft of this asset.”
