Vice President Rodríguez: Tourism sector contributes to economic growth in Venezuela

The Vice President of the Republic Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, during a business conference, highlighted the potential for generating foreign exchange and employment in the tourism engine, at a time when the country is facing attacks from imperialism in its quest to economically suffocate the nation.

In the tourism sector, more than 371 million jobs would be created around the planet, the impact of this engine of the world economy and the impact it has on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of all countries, and in the specific case of Venezuela, we know that it has 17 consecutive quarters of growth, and the tourism sector has also contributed to this growth with significant advances.

He highlighted the unification of all the actors involved in tourism, as well as their training and certification. “It is a work that has been done together and in this case this international business conference serves to promote the Tourism Engine in Venezuela in a great effort of the Ministry for Tourism, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Venezuelan Country Brand, which is publicizing and promoting the wealth and tourism benefits that our country has and the advances in its services and infrastructure,” said Rodríguez.

He also assured that this international event taking place in the state of Carabobo is framed in President Maduro's proposal that “the tourist engine is the future of Venezuela, and in this sense, 557 agreements were signed in this business round.”

“We are giving a boost when we see the growth that this engine has had in recent years, we know that it is the path for our Venezuela in order to diversify the economy from an oil rentier model to an economy that boosts this sector, where Venezuela has the peculiarity of having natural beauty and biodiversity,” he stressed.

He also assured that President Nicolás Maduro has been very aware, minute by minute, of the good development of this business circle and the tourist area.

“What we are seeing is the explanation of the economic transformation and of the Concrete Agenda for Action, prepared by the tourism team together with all the meetings that took place in the country where the communal circuits that are making their tourist routes that exceed 950 are also incorporated,” said the vice-president.
