The Venezuelan boy Mateo Gabriel Pérez Gutiérrez, a 7-year-old native of the state of Táchira, won a gold medal at the International STEM Olympics 2025, where representatives from the United States (USA), Germany, France, Türkiye, Brazil participated. Mexico, United Arab Emirates and Colombia.

Through her Telegram channel, the Venezuelan Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, stressed that “the exceptional performance and extraordinary result not only positions him among the best in his category at the global level, but also assures him of his passage to the grand final to be held in July 2026 in Italy”.

In addition, it reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to strengthening the National Scientific Seed Program to consolidate science as a tool for transformation and national sovereignty, as part of the Great Mission of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán.
