The process of receiving and reviewing applications to apply for the office of ombudsman and attorney general of the Republic continues, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Giuseppe Alessandrello, said this Friday.
The parliamentarian, who chairs the Committee for the Evaluation of Applications for Citizens Power, explained that next Monday, March 9, the process of receiving applications will close. If there is a request for an extension, he said that it will be evaluated by the committee.
He pointed out that the instance follows, to the letter, the process established in the work schedule that was drawn up.
“The evaluation and application phase is organized in accordance with what is established by the regulations, and includes the receipt of credentials, review and verification of the required requirements, among others included in the process,” said Alessandrello.
The process is within the expected period of 30 days. At the end of this period, the committee will submit to the Plenary of the AN the list of those eligible who met the legal requirements.
The AN appointed the Committee for the Evaluation of Applications to choose the positions required by the Citizen Power, on February 25, after the resignation of the heads of the Public Ministry and the Office of the Ombudsman.
The committee includes deputies Gloria Castillo, Carolina García Carreño and Rodbexa Poleo, and deputies Willy Medina, Carlos Mogollón, José Villarroel, Roy Daza, Pablo Pérez, Bernabé Gutiérrez, Julio Hernández, Antonio Ecarrí and Luis Augusto Romero.
