Ministry of Public Works inspects main runway at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía

The sector vice president of Public Works and Services, Juan Ramírez, reported that high-tech evaluations are being carried out on the main runway 10-28 of Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, after the double earthquake of last June 24.
“Today -Wednesday-, we are installing specialized equipment to measure the electrical resistivity of the ground. This work will allow us to generate maps in 2D and 3D models to scientifically determine the depth of the crack system caused by the recent earthquake and establish a rigorous plan of action by injecting special additives and high-strength concrete to stabilize the track,” Ramírez explained on his telegram channel.
.The Minister of People's Power for Public Works, also explained that the action plan is carried out through the “injection of special additives such as concrete to stabilize the crack and thus generate reliability on the track.”
