Officials from the Aragua State Fire Department responded, in a timely manner, to a recycled material fire registered in the vicinity of the Tapa-Tapa Cartonera, located on the Maracay—Mariara highway, Girardot municipality.

The Ministry of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP) said that the accident was caused by a fire of vegetation and solid waste near the site.

He also indicated that the fire affected approximately 350 square meters of organic material.

“In the absence of personnel on site, the fire brigade forcibly opened the facilities and immediately began control and extinguishing work, managing to prevent the spread of fire to other areas,” the ministry said.

Despite the fact that the fire was controlled, in the morning hours of April 5, there was a restart of the focus within the company, so the units returned to the site to continue with the extinguishing work.

Currently, the event is in the process of being attended to, with the deployed personnel carrying out control and cooling actions to ensure the complete extinction of the fire and prevent new outbreaks.
