The governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, praised the struggle of those who fell in the Battle of the Bridges, “for these heroes who in life gave all their efforts and dreams, and their will to work for the growth of our people.”
This was emphasized by Bernal when referring to the anonymous heroes of this battle, which occurred on February 23, 2019, on the border with Colombia, and highlighted the sacrifice of those who defended national sovereignty against imperialism, during their intervention in the recognition ceremony in the state of Táchira on the occasion of the commemoration of the 7th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bridges.
Bernal paid tribute with a minute of applause in homage to two heroes of the Battle of the Bridges, who today accompany the Venezuelan people in a spiritual way: Darío Vivas and Aristobulo Istúriz.
He highlighted the memory of both leaders, recalling their dedication and commitment to the Fatherland, who “that February 23 were on the front line of combat”.
He also stressed that the battle occurred when there was a strategy to invade the country, start a civil war and overthrow the Bolivarian Government.
He pointed out that those who promoted this plan were wrong, since they were unaware that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, had ordered a combined strategy in perfect popular-military-police fusion, which succeeded in defeating those attempts, leaving the adversaries to “bite the dust of defeat”.
Bernal also highlighted that the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, has carried out Peace Diplomacy and expressed her absolute support and support for the president in charge by the political militancy of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the People of Tachirense and the entire Venezuelan population.
