Bolivar youth win silver and bronze in Vietnam math competition

The Minister of People's Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, reported that young people from the state of Bolivar reached an international academic milestone after obtaining a silver medal, three bronze medals and an honorable mention in the International Applied Mathematics Competition in Vietnam 2026.

On his Telegram channel, he highlighted that this edition was held online with the participation of students from more than 10 countries, in which the Bolivar state delegation demonstrated its skill in complex areas such as statistics, optimization, logic and mathematical modeling.

Regarding individual results, he mentioned that Axel Hernández excelled in the intermediate category with a silver medal, while Franco Abate, Fabrizzio Abate and Ibrahim Rawhan won bronze medals in the Junior category. In addition, the young Joseph Pérez received an honorable mention for his outstanding performance during the tests, which consolidates the team's overall success.

“Congratulations guys! You are a source of national pride and an inspiration for thousands of children and young people of the National Scientific Seed Program, the work of the head of state, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and who today accompanies the President in Charge @DrodriguezVen,” he said.

In addition, he stressed that these triumphs are proof of the enormous potential of new generations and of students' commitment to academic excellence in high-level competitions.
